All you need to know about getting Admission in UK 🇬🇧 and its Tuition Deposit Matters
First of all, the information that would be shared here does not apply to every single University in the UK. It is however, a general observation that is applicable to most schools in the UK.
As far as I know, all schools in the UK requires that you make a tuition deposit after you have received your admission.
This tuition deposit typically ranges from £1,000 – £5,000 on the average depending on the school.
While lots of people would be very happy with a school whose tuition deposit is around £1,000, it is important that you consider the policy for paying the tuition balance.
What we have noticed is that schools with really low tuition deposits, would require you to pay up to 50% of the tuition fees before enrollment. In some cases, you may be required to pay more.
On the other hand, schools who have high tuition deposits allow you to attend classes, and you can pay the rest in installments over a couple of months.
For example, Bournemouth University requires that you make a tuition deposit of around £1,000 – £2,000, however, you would be expected to pay the full fees before attending classes.
Similarly, University of Bedfordshire allows you to make a deposit of around £1,000 – £2,000. You would need to pay 65% of your tuition fees before you can start attending classes.
On the other hand, University of Salford will require you pay £5,500 as Tuition deposit, when you get here, they allow you to start lectures and even enjoy one month without disturbance. From 2nd month, they divide your remaining tuition fees by 7 months, so you pay a portion of the 7 months, lets say about £1,100 every last day of the month. They even allow you grace any month end that you dont have that complete £1,100. All you need to do, is call them and tell them the amount you can afford to pay that month😁.
Robert Gordon University requires that your tuition deposit is 34% of your tuition fees, usually around £4,500. You can start attending classes right away and pay the rest in 2 or more installments.
Similarly Edinburgh Napier University requires a tuition deposit of £3,500. You can attend classes right away and you can pay the tuition balance in multiple installments.
Overall, when you are researching a school, it is important to look at the tuition deposit required, and the timeline for paying the outstanding fees.
